Santiago García de Leániz Caprile (Madrid, 1963) studied film history and theatre in Victoria, British Columbia and cinematography in London, UK. In 1989 he returned to Madrid to work in the film industry as assistant director and production manager. In 1990 he established with others La Iguana, an independent film production company based in Madrid,  producing documentaries, short films and six feature films that have won international acclaim from both critics and audience alike. Member of EFA, European Film Academy, he teaches cinema and photography. His photographic work is shown in both print and digital media and it is present in private collections at home and abroad.
